The Hill of Crosses is just a small hill in the middle of no where. However, what an impact it makes on the heart! While traveling one rainy morning, one of our companions wanted us to see this hill. During Soviet rule, people started bringing crosses to this hill and planting them, to show their faith. Three times, the Soviets tried to put a stop to this and bulldozed the site and warned that this was forbidden. But still to this day, do people bring crosses to this site to show their faith! As I said it was raining pretty good all morning. However about ten minutes before arriving to the Hill, the rain stopped and the sky became such a beautiful Blue sky with deep white clouds! What a beautiful site and day it had become!
